If you want to fulfil your call, you cannot remove yourselves from the fellowship of God within His Holy Church.

Jesus clearly says to us not forsake the fellowship of the gathering together.

Hebrews 10:25 exhorts believers not to cease gathering together, but instead to exhort each other as we see the coming of the day of the Lord drawing near. This passage demands frequent assembly meetings and mutual edification, and it uses the mounting conditions of the times as an enticement to greater fellowship and exhortation.

This verse calls for regular community gatherings and mutual support, with the intensifying circumstances of the time serving as a motivation for increased fellowship, support and encouragement.

And of course, we know from the Bible and Church history that believers gathered together every single day.

Fellowship is not an option. It is a command. Fellowship is necessary for spiritual survival.

The Battle

We not only have to face the obstacles in our own thought life but also those in our doubts and fears. We have to battle obstacles from other people. From prejudice, hate and doubts that are trying to lead us on another path. Not only do we have to battle obstacles from society’s cultures, but also from spiritual warfare.

We are being offered daily by satanic powers temptations that try to draw us away from God. If the satanic powers cannot draw us away from God, they will cause such havoc in our lives that we will stop witnessing for Christ. But if we refuse to stop witnessing for Christ, these evil powers will buffet us. They try to deceive us into manifesting and speaking untruths, thus leading others astray.

Your Protection

So you can see that staying in the fellowship of the believers is a kind of protection. Especially if those believers love talking about Jesus Christ. Staying in the protection of our Lord Jesus Christ also means joining in Bible studies and listening to homilies. It also means asking the priest for his advice, attending confession, praying, reading scriptures and living in holiness.

The Christian community protects the community, waters it, and feeds it.
