And over the last few months since Christmas, we’ve had some very interesting dialogue. I have been challenged theologically, intellectually, and psychologically. Which has made me dig deeper into the Bible and my faith. And I’ve also learn so much from you.
Everyone has commented, including Catholics, non-Catholics, and even trolls! It has been such an interesting learning curve, and I hope it continues.

I want to discuss some comments and visit some of the issues you raised.
I will address ONE OF THE most commented Videos.
The thumbnail says- Let’s get honest about understanding your faith. The title is The Theological Ignorance of Catholics. It has over 200 comments and well over 2,500 views, and it is really worth noting. Which is not a lot on YouTube standards, but as a new channel I have pleased with the results.
I want to explain a few things from a theological and cultural point of view.
What do I mean by that?
I know that 44% of my subscribers are from the United States of America, 15% from the UK, 4% from Canada and 3.5% from Australia and the remaining % are from 12 other countries.
I lived and worked in ministry in the United States of America. First in Chicago, IL, and then later in Tulsa, OK, traveling extensively across the country. I now live in the UK. The UK- The United Kingdom, although a minimal land mass- has a cultural divide.
For those unaware, the United Kingdom consists of Scotland, Wales, England, and Northern Ireland. Within these realms are cultures with different languages, such as Welsh, Scots, Scottish Gaelic, and Irish.
The UK- The United Kingdom has different nuances, customs, and English dialects.
Within the United States, there are 50 states with their own Historical context, separate governance, nuances and ideas, and histories. Even though they predominantly speak English, there are different dialects. Therefore, reaching everybody and making yourself understood is quite an impossible task.
My Personality
My videos have a vast worldwide reach, and they also go to non-English-speaking countries. Living in the UK for 29 years now. I have found that my fourth-right manner may appeal to more of an American than a UK audience. So, from my point of view. As a YouTube creator, I have to be entirely myself and not try to fit into anybody’s cultural identity. This is because, as you can see, I am reaching so many countries. it would be a total impossibility to do otherwise.
Why am I saying all this?
I’m saying this because of that video where I said I was angry, which some cultures may have misunderstood. I guess my personality may be very well accepted and appreciated in the United States. And maybe Australia, where I’m from. And judging by the positive comments, I would affirm that to be true.
People’s hearts were Touched.
The good news is that several viewers commented that after watching that video. They felt challenged to be more dedicated to the Church’s teachings. While others found their way back to the Catholic Church. I am grateful that they took up the challenge, and I know their future will be incredible.
If you haven’t already read the comments on the videos, most of them are genuinely inspiring. Times are tough, and we do not have time to play regular games. For that reason we must take Jesus to his word. And we can’t do that without reading and understanding his words.
Although people’s hearts were touched, others found the video offensive due to my forthright personality. Some disagreed with what I said, while others felt my demeanor was too harsh and were shocked.
My Vision & Mission

My hope for this channel is to be a source of encouragement as I share my journey. Its important to me that you know of God’s deep love for you. Jesus is coming soon. Whether we die and see him face to face or remain alive and see Him in the clouds of glory. He is coming soon, and we need to be ready!
Growing Up in Christ
Lets not fall into Theological Ignorance. As Catholics, making comparisons and constructive critiques of the Protestant church is vital because we need to know our roots. Critiques is essential. This is because if we know where and why we come from, we can then engage with the Bible. and when we engage with the Bible, we engage with God. And that is what I am trying to tease out.
My intention is not to aim criticism at anybody or disparage or belittle anybody. But rather to get to the truth so we all can grow up in Christ. And ‘growing’ can be pretty painful at times. We all experience growing pains as we grow in Christ.
Ephesians 4:15 says, “But holding to truth in love, we may grow up into Him in all things, who is the Head, Christ”.
In 1976, as an atheist, I found salvation within the Protestant faith. But I’m comparing Protestant vs Catholic to show where the truth lies
We all must understand that being in the Church that Jesus founded is pertinent to our eternal salvation. After all, what happens in eternity is far more critical than what happens here on Earth regarding comfort or discomfort. I prefer to be challenged in my faith and get uncomfortable here on earth to find heavenly bliss in eternity.
Almost Catholic -The Journey Home seeks to stir people to action. To encourage you to explore the Bible for yourself, and challenge you to seek God more deeply.
The Take Away
So let’s finish this up about comments on You Tube. Some people said they found my personality and what I said quite shocking. Well, my be I’ve done my job. If you found it astonishing, that’s good.
Sometimes, we need to be shocked by reality to examine ourselves. The Bible says to examine ourselves to see whether we’re in the faith. And I do not want you to be theologically Ignorant.
And I know that the times I’ve been totally shocked and upset and personally challenged by others, or something from the Bible, is when greatest change has been wrought in my life.
